Japanese restaurant located at the end of a busy street in Applecross.
Got the fresh salmon roll, teriyaki salmon roll, steamed gyoza, takoyaki, chicken kaarage don and Udon.
The Udon was on the sweeter side. Gyoza was quite nice and juicy (only $1 for a piece). Handroll was okay but the seaweed was a little tough and chewy.
Pricing is okay but on the more expensive side.
Parking is hard to find especially during lunch times.

Messy Munchies is a very friendly and welcoming team! The staff are polite and always attentive to customers' needs. The restaurant is small but has a cozy atmosphere.
The food is fusion cuisine, and you can tell it is made with care. I highly recommend the pork belly and karaage chicken—both are my favorites! In winter, try the sukiyaki; it's also a great choice!

Absolutely blown away by Messy Munchies. The food was next-level — fresh, bold, and packed with flavor. Service was flawless, super friendly and on point. Easily one of the best Japanese spots I’ve been to.

It’s a hidden gem in Applecross!
Ordered Karaage Chicken curry rice, teriyaki chicken udon soup, sushi bento and takoyaki. The fried chicken was just perfectly fried and the chicken was so juicy. My girls love their udon soup a lot. Sushi Bento is Katsu chicken roll with 8 pieces together with dumplings, spring rolls and salad. Overall experience was really good as the staffs were so friendly and kept making sure we are satisfied with what we had. Highly recommended!
